The award is not limited to service to Thornton; the Alumni Association looks for a candidate who has made a difference in his or her community or in other organizations. Year 2005 recipient Nancy Fairfield Rumery Class of 1943 Nominees must have graduated from Thornton at least 10 years ago. Current employees and Thornton board members are ineligible. Nominations are welcomed year-round. They must be post-marked by February 1 to be considered for the current year. All nominations are kept permanently on file and reconsidered each year. Make Your Nomination You can nominate a Thornton Academy graduate for this award using our online form. Written nominations are also accepted by taking the following steps: Please write the Alumni Office and describe in your own words the public service the nominee has done to make him or her deserving of this award. Also, list awards and honors that support your nomination. In addition attach any materials, such as articles, publications and so forth, that will help the committee understand how others would agree that this nominee has done outstanding public service. Resumes are not necessary, but are welcome. Please note that materials cannot be returned.
