The Distinguished Alumni Awards are sponsored by the Thornton Academy Alumni Association to recognize outstanding lifetime accomplishments by one or more Thornton alumni and to foster aspirations in recent graduates and current students.

Nominees must have graduated from Thornton at least 10 years ago. Current employees and Thornton board members are ineligible.

Nominations are welcome year-round. The award is given each year at the June baccalaureate. To be considered for the award, nominations must be postmarked by February 1 preceding baccalaureate. All nominations are kept permanently on file and reconsidered each year.

Please write the Alumni Office, either by regular mail or using our nomination form, and describe in your own words the distinguished contribution the nominee has made to his or her profession or to humanity. Also, list awards and honors that support your nomination. In addition, attach any materials such as news articles, publications and so forth that will help the Alumni Association's Awards & Recognition Committee understand how the world at large agrees that this nominee is distinguished. Resumes are not necessary but welcome. Please note that materials cannot be returned. The award ceremony and reception are held at baccalaureate, in June.
