Past events have included alumni musicals such as Fiddler on the Roof and Guys and Dolls. Other events include decade reunions and career seminars for current students. Upcoming events include the 1980 Decade Reunion in 2006. Awards & Recognition Committee presents the Distinguished Alumni Award and Public Service Award annually. The committee also organizes the annual Faculty and Staff Appreciation Banquet and the Volunteer Thank-You Picnic each spring. VOLUNTEERS WANTED All Alumni Association committees' welcome new ideas for activities as well as volunteers to help out. Nominating Committee is responsible for the recruitment and nomination of board members and officers. Senior Alumni Committee plans the annual Senior Alumni Reunion, the Spring Celebration as well as other events for alumni who graduated from TA 50 years or more ago. Sports Committee organizes events celebrating anniversaries of various sports at TA as well as alumni sporting events with alumni playing against each other or current TA students. Community Service Committee organizes community service projects, including food collections, blood drives, bell ringing during the holidays, and participation in MaryÕs Walk and Habitat for Humanity. Many projects are co-sponsored with current Thornton students. Children's Winter Carnival Committee organizes the annual event, a day of games and activities at TA for younger children, co-sponsored with current TA students. Nominating Committee is responsible for recruitment and nomination of board members and officers.
